Participants will understand how to use MediaWorks software in all aspects.

Software Layout

The software has two sections: Configuration Manager for IT admins and service staff, offering recorder configuration access, user security management, and report generation; and MediaWorks Plus for users, offering call recording, search, and playback tools. Main screen features tabs like browse, search, and instant recall, with recording details and playback controls. Manuals for system setup and usage are available, and optional software like MediaWorks Plus and Media Agent can be downloaded.

Log in and out of MediaWorks

Learn how to log into Eventide MediaWorks by using the provided username, password, and web address. Once you enter the web address in your browser, click the MediaWorks icon, input your credentials, and start using the software. Log out via the logout icon, usually located in the upper right. Administrators might auto-logout users after a while.

Creating New MediaWorks Users

Learn how to set up and manage users in Eventide’s MediaWorks software for video editing. Use the Configuration Manager to create, modify, and control user profiles, permissions, and account settings. Add users by providing a username and password, select security profiles, and define permissions. Save user info, including names and email addresses for communication. Admins can adjust settings like password policies and user timeouts. Further details are available in training or the user manual.

Browsing and Sorting Columns

Learn to efficiently navigate and organize data in Eventide with the Browse tab. Access it through File > New Tab > Browse. Expand folders to reveal months, days, and channels containing recordings. Click on a channel to display its recordings. Playback by double-clicking or using the play button. Rearrange columns by dragging, and reset positions via right-click. Add metadata columns by right-clicking on headers.

Search Tab and Filters

Learn how to effectively navigate the Eventide Search tab and utilize its features, including calendar and channel selections, along with optional filters. You can search by specific days, day groups, or time windows, and select channels individually or as a group. Filters enable detailed searches based on metadata, which you can add and remove easily. The results appear in a new search tab without affecting previous searches, displaying all relevant recordings.

Quick Menu

Learn how to efficiently use the quick menu in MediaWorks for managing recordings. By right-clicking on a recording or multiple recordings, you can access a range of options: attach searchable notes, view access history, secure recordings, group calls under tabs, choose playback modes (sequential or mixed), and add text annotations with searchable markers on the timeline. Additionally, visualize audio through waveform representations by right-clicking to draw waveforms.

Playback Menu and Sound Settings

Learn to manage sound settings in Eventide’s playback menu for timeline adjustments. Control sound per channel using sound modification options, including muting with the green speaker icon, and apply settings like AGC, EQ boost, and obfuscated sound. These choices enable equalizing sound levels, amplifying channel volume, and masking speaker identity. Adjust channel and speaker volume via adjacent sliders in the options menu.

Exporting Calls

Learn to export recordings from your recorder using the browse and search tabs. Right-click on the chosen recording, select export, and follow the wizard for export settings. Alternatively, swiftly export by right-clicking and choosing export single recording; the file will save on your computer.

Creating an Incident

Learn how to manage incidents in Eventide with this concise guide. Incidents group related calls for easy retrieval, allowing you to tag, redact, and add annotations. You can create incidents by selecting calls with similar themes, view them in separate tabs, and save them under unique names. Annotations and redactions can be added to calls, and protection settings ensure recordings are retained. You can also share incidents via email or save them locally in their original format.

Modifying an Existing Incident

Learn how to modify events in Eventide by adding/removing recordings and exporting incidents. Add recordings by dragging them to the incident tab or using right-click > add. Remove by selecting and right-clicking > remove from incident. Export incidents via the export wizard. All records and attachments are included in the export.

Instant Recall

Access the Eventide instant recall system by logging in with your assigned credentials, navigate through active recording channels, filter results, and play call records by clicking on desired channels, selecting specific timeframes, and using the play button.

Geo Location

MediaWorks’ Eventide optional geolocation, when enabled through licensing, allows displaying call locations on a map and facilitates map location search for call recordings. Three search graphics – area circle, four-sided square, and pinpoint – aid in map location selection. A calendar range and selected channels are prerequisites.
